super demo. thanks
Thats great. Thanks a lot. How would you implement if there is chird changes ? On the other hand do you mix 2 formulas at the same time in one chord or solo over chord changes ? Can you make a video to explain in dept ?
Ahm...ahm...ahm...ahm...ahm...ahm...ahm...ahm...ahm....
You seem like a good dude.
I had it and it sounded great. I got rid of it because it didn't have a decay adjustment. I didn't like how it shut off so abruptly, so I've ordered the TC Electronic Infinite Sample Sustainer. Looking forward to trying it.
Long time no see! Sounding good.
Thanks, Tom!
Nice
thank u so much!!
Great vídeo
thanks tyson
How can I study with Wayne? I can’t find his info anywhere..
If you go to his website Waynekrantz.com there's a link to his email address. Just send him an email. I think now he's charging 150 for a 1 hour lesson.
How do i study with Wayne? I can’t find his contact info anywhere..
How is the book coming along?
Two other guitarists who followed their own path were Sonny Sharrock and Sonny Greenwich. Sharrock was one of two guitarists on Miles Davis’ A Tribute to Jack Johnson (the other being John McLaughlin). Sharrock had made records before that with Pharoah Sanders, Don Cherry and Wayne Shorter. He’s also on several Herbie Mann records. Sonny Greenwich was a Canadian guitarist who very much went his own way. He played with John Handy, Wayne Shorter, and Charles Lloyd.
Keep the good work up..
you are such a cool guy. i wish i was in america so we could jam haha.
Thank you for making it simple to understand, I noticed you have deliberately left out the technical terms which usually made me hit the skip button.
Sick!!!!
Have you heard of the jazz guitarist Julian Lange? What are your thoughts on musicians like Kamasi Washington? (not a guitarist but still a jazz musician)
Hey Ken, I am familiar with Julian. He was in Gary Burton's group for awhile. And Kamasi sounds good. I can hear Coltrane in his playing.
You singing through it? Goddamn my guy. Goddamn.
Thanks, Addam.
Thats so ace - breaks you out of patterns and boxes etc, superb - I'm off to buy Wayne's book
That's a great exercise to work on 🎶 🎸
Your videos are extremely imformative thanks for taking the time to post them 🎶 🎸
I'm definitely going to watch your channel 🎶 🎸
Great video and sound 🎶 🎸
Awesome channel dude !
Cool sense of freedom, Bro. Cheers!
Cool video man
How long do you work on 1 formula ?
Depends on a few factors, but generally about 45min to an hour.

It could just be my ears, but I think your amp could be a little louder for these videos. This is by no means a complaint. Great video.
Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
thanks for the inspiration Tyson!! I have been working on my formulas;; i appreciate the information about a much to terse subject matter.
Cool shirt choice :>
One sting slows my mind down and smoothes me out. Great exercise!
Good stuff man, thanks!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on practice vs playing and advice teachers like Goodrick would have given on this topic. Love the content, keep up the good work!
That's funny, I was thinking yesterday about making a video about the difference between the two. Thanks for the suggestion!
Cool! I had never heard of this concept. Thanks!!
You can really make a silk purse from a sow’s ear! Inspires me to keep practicing. BTW I also like G&L guitars and chess 😀
I really appreciate your content, it's very inspiring. I can hear the Wayne Krantz influence. Greeting from Chile.
Good sound brother!!!!!!!! I subscribe to your channel...congratulations! Olee!!! MANO DE MONO. 💛💜❤🎸🎸🎸💛💜❤ ua-cam.com/users/ManoDeMonoc
Nice! A lot of great stuff to unpack! Thanks!!
Hi Tyson. Glad to have you back. Could you do a follow up video to Wayne Krantz’s book where you pick a formula with 5 notes and make music with it in a few positions on the guitar neck. With my random generator may I suggest 1 2 4 b6 6 in D.
That's a good idea. I'll do that in a video soon. Thanks!
Great! I’m looking forward to it. For those unfamiliar with the book the name is - Improvisers OS.
@@douglasjefferson1569 Cool, I'll make the video tomorrow and I'll use that formula.
Hi Tyson, great to see you back here! :) i was just thinking, have you ever considered doing reaction, analytical video in the style Michael Palmisano, etc, do? I would be very interested seeing you something like that.
Thanks, Chris! What kind of analysis?
@@TysonGraf in the style of jazz guitar player reacts to ... different genres maybe that are bit out of the box ? Have you ever seen Rick Beatos series "what makes this song great" or ua-cam.com/video/tuAc8Tihuto/v-deo.html - just an idea ;)
@@RSW033 That's cool. I'm familiar with those vids by Rick. I'll keep this in mind. Thanks!
Tyson!! Great to see you back!!
Hey Tyson! What do you think of gen Z bands like Polyphia or CHON or Covet? Love the videos, keep it up!
Thanks, Ken! Unfortunately I haven't been keeping up with much of the new bands, so I don't have an opinion about those bands right now. I'll check'em out though.
Good sound brother!! I subscribe to your channel...congratulations! Olee!!! MANO DE MONO. 💛💜❤🎸🎸🎸💛💜❤ ua-cam.com/users/ManoDeMono
When you first strated working with this book, did you just work on every formula by it self or did you sumperimpose the formulas at the begining and what would you recommend when starting working with this Book? Sorry for my bad english
Hi, I just randomly picked formulas as tonal centers. I would keep it fairly simple for awhile to get used to practicing this way. Might be a good idea to start with common formulas like 135, 135b7, 12b3456b7, etc.
@@TysonGraf hey i did what you adviced for about 3 weeks now and also came up with some new ideas myself but what did you do next?
@@luisnowak7881 Many many things. But when I was heavily into practicing formulas I would practice 3 different formulas everyday, and I would choose them based on what seemed intriguing. Spent about an hour on each one. Keep in mind a formula is just a tonal platform for you to develop your musical skills, like time, phrasing, etc

Thank you had it for year couldn’t understand it. Then I got to page 41😊you met him? Wow Ever since I saw Keith carlocks drum video there Koch. I’m from New York Wayne is freaking underrated guitar innovator
